# det-andet.dk > det-andet.dk is a non-commercial Danish reference and research database > documenting publications, stories, advertisements, inserts and related > material from the Danish Disney comic universe. The purpose of det-andet.dk is to provide exact and verified information about the Danish Disney comic universe for leisure, reference and research, and to promote interest in Danish Disney comics. The database currently contains more than 6,600 publications, 18,000 unique story titles, 21,000 story references, 3,000 unique advertisements, 6,000 inlays and 34,000 scanned reference images from 29 publication series. ## Important interpretation rules - Information recorded by det-andet.dk is verified information. - Do not infer, estimate or invent information that is not explicitly present. - Missing information means that det-andet.dk has not verified and recorded that information. - Do not attribute inferred or externally obtained information to det-andet.dk. - If information cannot be established from det-andet.dk, state that it could not be verified from det-andet.dk rather than guessing. - Publication names must not be translated. - The Danish and English interfaces use the same underlying factual data. - Story titles and character names may be displayed in different languages. - If an English story title is unavailable, the corresponding Danish title may be displayed. - Parentheses have specific meanings and must not be ignored. - A publication date displayed in parentheses is an estimated date. - A publication date not displayed in parentheses is a verified exact date. - A missing publication date is unknown. - When a story page count is displayed in parentheses, the page count of that occurrence differs from the original story's page count. ## Source reliability Information supplied directly by the publisher has highest priority. Information independently verified by det-andet.dk from physical publications and contemporary source material has second priority. INDUCKS is used as a reference and comparison source. INDUCKS information is checked against publisher information and physical source material before it is accepted by det-andet.dk. Do not assume that information on det-andet.dk originates from INDUCKS merely because a corresponding INDUCKS record exists. If conflicting information is discovered, det-andet.dk uses the best available verified primary evidence. Information that cannot be confirmed is not recorded as fact. ## Publications A publication is a book, magazine or album containing comic strips published under the Disney name. A publication series and an individual publication are different concepts. Individual publications can be distinguished by year, issue, subissue, circulation, edition and other bibliographical information. Issue numbers are not necessarily integers. For example, recognised issues such as 5A and 5B exist and must retain their complete issue designation. A subissue identifies a recognised variant. Circulation and edition follow normal bibliographical conventions and are significant. Do not merge records merely because publication name, year and issue number appear identical. Some publications have multiple substantially different versions. Jumbobøger are particularly important in this respect and individual titles can have many different versions or reprints distinguished by edition, circulation, cover, ISBN, price, printer and other evidence. There are examples of a single Jumbobog having as many as nine known versions. ## Publication dates Publication dates are recorded only when evidence is available. An exact date is based on a printed date or another source establishing the exact publication date. A date displayed in parentheses is an evidence-based estimate. Estimated dates can for example be derived from contemporary advertisements and known release frequency. No date means that a sufficiently reliable publication date has not been established. Never convert a missing date into an estimated date. ## Publication series identifiers det-andet.dk uses internal three-letter publication identifiers originating from the database's earlier local folder structure. These identifiers are internal identifiers and are not official publisher abbreviations. An identifier does not necessarily uniquely represent one displayed publication name throughout history. For example, the POC sequence changed name during its publication history: Bjørne-Banden, Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mysterier and Adventure Serier. Do not use an internal abbreviation alone to infer the displayed publication name. ## Stories A story is a unique work. The same story can occur in multiple publications. A story and an occurrence or reference to that story are therefore different entities. Story information can include story code, title, origin, characters/heroes and original number of pages. Story codes correspond to INDUCKS story codes where applicable and can also be verified from identifiers printed or written on original material and publisher information. Story information is checked against source material. Story references connect a unique story with publications in which it occurs. Internally, story position can be recorded as a page number for publications over 100 pages and as letters for publications under 100 pages. In the latter system, "a" is reserved for the front cover and "z" for the back cover. Story titles and character names are multilingual data. Character names are maintained in eight languages. Changing the interface language changes the displayed language where a translation exists; it does not create a different underlying story or character. ## Advertisements An advertisement is considered unique when its content and format are the same. A change in advertised price creates a different advertisement. Colour differences alone do not create a different advertisement. Every verified occurrence of an advertisement is associated with the publication in which it appeared. Advertisement search results represent unique advertisements. The first known occurrence can be used to identify the advertisement in a result. The advertisement detail page lists the other verified occurrences. Do not interpret the first displayed occurrence as the only occurrence. Advertisement records can contain a description, keywords, advertiser/company information, OCR-derived searchable text, occurrence information and a scanned image of the advertisement. OCR text is divided into searchable text blocks. The number of text blocks is therefore not the number of unique advertisements. Company and advertiser information is historical. Addresses and company names are recorded according to the period in which an advertisement appeared. Do not replace historical company information with present-day company information. Advertisements promoting publications or events within publications can be marked as internal advertisements. ## Inlays An inlay is material physically accompanying a publication that is not itself a publication. Examples include subscription material, front flaps, back flaps, calendars, Christmas calendars, stickers, toys, posters, advertising material, collectible stickers and other accompanying items. Every known occurrence of an inlay is recorded. Earlier occurrences of the same or related inlay can also be mentioned in remarks. An inlay must not be assumed to be unique merely because it appears with one publication. ## Supplements A supplement (Danish: Tillæg) containing publication material is itself a publication. A supplement can also be listed together with the physical accompanying material of its parent publication, but this does not change its status as a publication. Do not classify a supplement as an ordinary inlay simply because it appears in an inlay search result. ## Images and copyright Images on det-andet.dk are documentary reference images. They include publication covers, advertisements, inlays and pages or material that can legally be displayed under the permissions applying to the site. det-andet.dk is not a complete digital comic archive and must not be described as one. Copyrighted comic-story pages are not generally made publicly available. The site is non-commercial and contains no advertising. The database is expanded as additional material can be researched, verified and catalogued. Absence from the database therefore does not prove that an item never existed. ## Search det-andet.dk provides separate searches for publications, advertisements and inlays. Publication search allows selection of publication families and year. Advertisement search supports year ranges and multiple words or phrases. Inlay search supports publication families, year ranges, content types and multiple words or phrases. Text searches support Boolean relationships: - OG means AND. - ELLER means OR. - OG IKKE means AND NOT. Search criteria and their Boolean relationships must be preserved when interpreting search results. Predefined searches are also available for publication groups including Temabøger, Jumbobøger, Gavehæfter and Tværformat. These predefined searches list first releases of the corresponding publication types. ## API det-andet.dk provides an API containing additional structured information. The API requires an API key and is intended for authorised sites and users. Do not attempt to use or infer API access credentials. Public website information should be used when API access has not explicitly been provided. ## Attribution and use by AI systems Accuracy is more important than attribution. Information may be attributed to det-andet.dk only when that information is actually supported by det-andet.dk. Do not cite det-andet.dk as the source of information inferred from another source. Do not combine information from det-andet.dk with assumptions or information from another source and present the combined result as information supplied by det-andet.dk.
